Fall cleanup for twin
cities now underway

Fall cleanup for Walnut Ridge and Hoxie began on Monday and will continue through Oct. 13.

Dumpsters will be available at the Walnut Ridge city shop Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Saturdays, Oct. 6 and 13, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

No tires, shingles, batteries, hazardous chemicals or paint cans will be accepted, with the exception of paint cans without lids and dried up.

For Walnut Ridge residents, limbs and yard waste will continue to be picked up until Sunday, and residents are asked to separate brush and yard waste from Class IV dumpster items.

Pickup for Hoxie residents began on the northwest side of Midway Road on Monday, and will continue to work southwest to the bypass, then cross over to the southeast side and work northwest to the Brewer addition.

Hoxie residents are asked to separate items into four categories: metal, brush, wood and junk.

The county also has Class IV dumpsters available until Saturday for non-household waste, such as appliances and furniture.

No tires, shingles, building materials, etc. will be accepted.

The dumpsters are located at the former Moore's Feed Store in downtown Black Rock and at the Lawrence County Shop, located on Hwy. 67 south of Hoxie.

The dumpsters will be available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday, and from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
