Justices approve budgetThe Lawrence County Quorum Court approved the 2013 county budget at its meeting on Monday night. The budget totals $3,066,635.86 and includes a holdback of almost $60,000 from the anticipated revenue for the upcoming year. County Clerk Tina Stowers said the budget was approved as proposed by the budget committee. In other business, court members discussed equipment needs and decided to have County Judge Dale Freeman purchase a used tractor and mower. Justices also approved a $2,125 appropriation to the Lawrence County Fair Board. The funds were received as a grant.
