Hillcrest sweeps BR

Lawrence County teams Black Rock and Hillcrest stepped outside their respective conferences to square off against each other on Dec. 3 at Lynn.

In a senior boys game, four Hillcrest players scored in double figures as the Screamin' Eagles downed the Zebras 74-44.

Hillcrest led 14-5 after one quarter, 33-19 at halftime and 52-34 at the end of the third period.

Colman Evans led the Eagles with 16 points, followed by Jeremiah Turner with 13. Zachary Doyle scored 12 points, and Hunter Nunnally added 10.

For Black Rock, Derek Nunnally had 18 points, and Caleb McKenzie had 14.

The Hillcrest senior girls defeated the Lady Zebras 65-37.

Hillcrest led 22-9 at the end of the first quarter, 49-24 at halftime and 62-30 heading into the fourth quarter.

Lindsey Crews led the Lady Eagles with 20 points. Stacy Maxwell had 12 points, and Katelyn Richey finished with 10 points.

Erica Bass and Rachel Weekley each scored 15 points for the Lady Zebras.

Dylan Nunnally scored 15 points to lead the Hillcrest junior boys past Black Rock 47-39.

Bay

The Black Rock boys traveled to Bay Friday night.

The senior boys fell to the Yellowjackets 78-26, and the Bay junior boys defeated Black Rock 56-24.
