new councilmen
Mayor Don House welcomed new council members Boyce Dixon, Jeff Taylor, Anthony Pinkston and Don Winfrey at the council's first meeting of the year on Jan. 8. The council also discussed work on a budget for this year and appointed new members to the airport commission and the Northeast Arkansas Regional Intermodal Facilities Authority.

January 19, 2013: 251 days, nine states, hundreds of miles, eight flat tires, nine bicycles, 40 jars of peanut butter, 24 backpacks, numerous Mountain Dews and cups of coffee, 16 miles of walking against the wind and a town called Walnut Ridge.
