WR boys sweep BR

Walnut Ridge's junior and senior boys basketball teams traveled to Black Rock on Jan. 14, with each squad earning a win.

The senior high game saw the Bobcats jump out to a 26-3 lead in the first quarter and never look back en route to a 71-19 victory. Walnut Ridge led 38-7 at halftime and 57-12 after three quarters.

For Walnut Ridge, Range Weeks had 12 points, while Hunter Flippo scored 11, and Zach Crisler added nine.

The junior Bobcats improved to 13-2 on the season with a 61-26 win.

Walnut Ridge led 21-7 after a quarter, 29-14 at halftime and 43-22 after three periods.

Drake Smelser had 10 points for Walnut Ridge. Michael Bounds, Luke Harper and Jacob Trinidad had eight points apiece. Luke Wall, Martin Crisler and Spencer Wilson each added six points.

River Ferguson hit four three-pointers and finished with 16 points for Black Rock.
