WR airport adds access for pilots

At Monday's Walnut Ridge Airport Commission meeting commissioners learned that a keypad has been installed for pilots to use after hours at the airport. This will give them access to the lounge and restrooms in case of a forced landing or other emergency.

Motion sensors have also been installed in the terminal, which activate the lights when someone walks in and new lighting has also been installed on the ramp side. The airport is working with Entergy to repair streetlights that are out.

Airport Manager Michelle Anthony informed the group that security cameras have been installed both inside and outside of the building to record everything that happens.

In other business:

• commissioners decided to rent Hut 4 for $200 per month because it has no air conditioning.

• the commission heard a report on current fuel sales from Anthony.
