The Lawrence County Quorum Count is looking to start budgeting for the 2014 year and any end-of-year salary adjustments next week. County Clerk Tina Stowers said that two budget reports have not been turned in yet but she will be working to get those in as soon as possible.

A budget committee meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday at 4 p.m. in the conference room of the Lawrence County Courthouse.

Also at Monday night's Quorum Court meeting:

  • Judge Dale Freeman informed the court that a used road grader has been purchased to replace the one that recently caught fire.

  • Justice Jim Jones brought to the attention of the court that the Imboden Library's building, which is currently being rented by the library, has been put up for sale. The council discussed options for the library to purchase the building but no decision was made. Jones said he will continue to look into options.

  • the council passed a resolution allowing The Children's Shelter to apply for a grant for new flooring.
