Hoxie continues search
for supt., Baker is interim
Hoxie School Board Chair Jeff Worlow announced that former Valley View Supt. Radius Baker is serving as interim Hoxie superintendant until a permanent replacement for Dennis Truxler, who recently resigned, is found.
Worlow said he does not have an estimate for when the position will be filled and said the board will take as long as needed to find the right person for Hoxie School.
Baker is currently under no contract with the school. "He has been working here for free because that's just the kind of guy he is," Worlow said. "Education is his passion, and he realized we were in need."
A superintendant's contract with a school would typically start on July 1. The school was not able to find a permanent replacement by that time as hoped. Worlow said that he predicts they will sign a contract with Baker for him to continue in his interim position until a permanent replacement is hired.
