Lady Mustangs split

The Pocahontas Lady Redskins defeated Hoxie 35-24 in senior girls basketball action Friday night at Pocahontas.
Pocahontas led 15-9 at halftime and 25-16 at the end of the third quarter.
Emily Davis scored nine points to lead Hoxie.
After the loss, the Lady Mustangs have a 10-7 overall record on the season.
The Hoxie junior high girls routed Pocahontas 57-26.
The Pocahontas senior boys edged Hoxie 51-47 on Thursday at Pocahontas.
The Redskins led 13-11 after one quarter and 23-19 at the half. Hoxie rallied in the third period to take a 35-33 lead heading into the fourth quarter. Pocahontas outscored the Mustangs 18-12 in the final period to earn the victory.
WR sweeps Ridgefield Christian
The Walnut Ridge basketball teams returned from the holiday break in successful fashion with wins over Ridgefield Christian on Thursday at Jonesboro.
The Lady Bobcats overcame a halftime deficit to defeat Ridgefield 55-45 in the senior girls game. Walnut Ridge raced out to a 17-10 first-quarter lead, but the Lady Warriors stormed back in the second period to outscore the Lady Cats 24-8 and take a 34-25 halftime advantage. Walnut Ridge bounced back in the third quarter and regained the lead at 42-39 entering the final period. The Lady Bobcats closed strong, outscoring Ridgefield 13-6 in the fourth quarter to secure the win.
Lady Hounds beat Rector
The Sloan-Hendrix Lady Greyhounds defeated Rector in senior girls basketball Friday night at Rector.
Sloan-Hendrix led 20-10 at halftime and 32-20 after three quarters.
Annie Doney scored 10 points for Sloan-Hendrix.
Rector won the junior girls game 33-32. Cloie Marshall led Sloan-Hendrix with 15 points.
A fourth-quarter rally lifted the Cougars to a 61-56 win over Sloan-Hendrix in the senior boys game.
Hillcrest teams fall to Marmaduke
The Hillcrest senior boys traveled to Marmaduke and dropped a hard-fought contest to the Greyhounds, 48-43, on Thursday night.
Marmaduke led 11-9 at the end of the first quarter and 24-16 at the half. Hillcrest cut into the Greyhounds lead after the intermission and trailed by only one point, 33-32, entering the fourth quarter. Marmaduke withstood the Eagles' effort and outscored the visitors 15-11 in the final period.
Tyson Durham scored 11 points, and Colton Rose added 10 for Hillcrest.
The loss left the Screamin' Eagles' record at 13-8 for the season.
